DAIRY COMPANIES' ASSOCIATION.
MANAWATU AND WEST COAST EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the executive of the Manawatu and West Coast Dairy Companies' Association was held last week, there being present Messrs S. A. B'-oad-belt (Levin), in the chair, P. Hansen (Awahun), J. W. Teale (Kai-ranga) and T. Ranford (Whakarongo). The federation of Taranaki co-opera tive dairy factories advised thar the following resolutions had been e'-'-ricd at a federation meeting, and requested the Association to lend its support to the suggestions: "(1) That the lairy division of the Department of Agriculture, be urged to eliminate regulation 37 o'f the general regu'ations under the Dairy Industry Act, 1908, whica prohibits the inclusion of matter from cheese presses, white whey, washings and butterfat from the manufacture ol whey butter, and suggests the substitution of regulations for inspection and maintenance of cleaaliness in the handling of matter from cheese presses; (i') that the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company and the Wairarapa and Manawatu Dairy Associations be invited to co-operate with ths federation in the matter." It was decided to hold the letter over for a discussion at a more representative meeting.
