THE NEW LEVIES.

INCREASE IN TE HORO RIDING,

Rates for the 1927-28 financial year which ends on March 31st next, were struck at the annual meeting of the Horowhenua County Council and are advertised in this issue. It will be seen that the only increases are-in the Te Horo Riding, in which the rate has gone up from ten to thirteen-sixteenths of a penny; and in the hospital rate, a County rate, which has risen from eleven sixty-fourths to eight forty-fifths —a difference of about 170th of a penny. The rates are as below, the two columns showing respectively those in operation last year and -those levied for
