COUNTY COUNCIL APPROVES SAFETY MEASURES.

The Works Committee of the Horowhenua County Council recommended cn Saturday that the necessary .steps be taken to acquire land in the vicinity of the Hokio Beach road bridge for the purpose of moving the . present bridge to a more suitable position. The chairman said he understood that the present bridge \Vas in some danger owing to erosion of the banks. If land was acquired, it could be :e moved to a safer and more suitable site. . , . , The was adopted. The Council abo adopted a recommendation by the Works Committee that twe or three posts and rails be elected at a dangerous bend just off the . last bridge on the Hokiq Beach road. These decisions of the Council will be greatly appreciated by the manj people who use this increasingly busy thoroughfare to a popular seaside resort and useful farming locality.
