CYCLING AT PALMERSTON.

LAMB WINS MANAWATU WHEEL RACE. R. W. Lamb, the Australasian amateur champion, won the Manawatu wheel race, of two miles, at the Palmerston North sports yesterday . He rode a great finish with T. Oakley, sprinting from half-way round the last lap and winning by two lengths. F. J. Grose was third, about four lengths away. The winner’s time was smin. 31 4-5 sec. Lamb was unsuccessful in the half-mile and the mile, the former being, won by J. Hanley (Manawatu) from 50 yards, and the latter by E. Anderson (Feilding) from 110 yards, in the second heat of the mile Oakley was first and Lamb second, but Lamb did not compete in the final. M. Donald (Manawatu) won the mile B grade handicap' from scratch, and the mile and a-half from 110 yards, and was second in the half-mile handicap. .
