CRICKET COMPETITION.
END OF THIED BOUND. The points compiled 1o the end of the i third round of play in the Hall Shield competition by clubs under the control of the Horowhenua Cricket Asso- ■ c-iation, show that Shannon is leading in the north division and Weraroa in -the south. The fourth round will be commenced on Saturday next, and it is iioped to play a'fifth round if the sea son is favourable.. Matches between 'north and south, both with A and £ teams, will be played on Saturday, Feb- t riiaiy 26th, ,t -Levin and Weraroa, and (he selectors will take the opportunity to decide who shall represent the dis trict in the match to be played-against i Mnnawatu on March 12th. The positions of the teams at the end of the third round are given below; the max', mum possible points in the north divis- , ion are 16, and in the south 18. NORTH DIVISION. In a match between New Plymouth High School and Old Boys on Saturday last, a bowler named Stromborn captured six School wickets for 29 * runs and in fielding he caught out two ether batsmen, leaving only one to be accounted for in a team of ten men.
