CREAM GRADING.
DAIRY COMPANIES' ASSOCIATION MEETS. At a meeting of the executive of the Manawatu and West Coast Dairy Companies' Association last week, there were present: —Messrs J. W. Teale (Kairanga), C. G. C. Dormer (Cheltenham), P. Hansen (Awahuri), T. Ranford (Whakaronga), H. E.. Pacey (Joseph Nathan and Co., Ltd.), and R. Dalziell (Rata). A request was * received from the newly-formed Bush Dairy Factories'' Association for a copy of the association's rules. —The secrctaijy reported that these had been forwarded, and his action was confirmed. / A letter was received from the Apiti Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., asking that a resolution recently forwarded stressing the desirability for the abolition of the Arbitration Court and the preference to unionists' clause in awards, be dealt with as a remit at the annual meeting of the association Agreed to. Matters relating to cream grading were discussed in committee. The desirability of suppliers making every endeavour to abide by the instructions issued by the Department of Agriculture was stressed by seyeral speakers. It was finally decided that a general manifesto be prepared for issue to suppliers pointing out the value of the scheme and urging that a fair trial be given it by the suppliers. Ari' endeavour is also' to be made to have Mr. W. M. Singleton, director of the Dairy Division, address suppliers at a public 1 meeting to be arranged for February, if possible. It was decided to ask the Railway Department to reply to the Association's request for reduced freights on dairy produce. Discussion on the question of the determination of Control Board boundaries, was held over for next meeting. «■
