CYCLING CRACKS MEET.
WINS FOR LAMB AND' GROSE. At a sports meeting hold by the Wellington centre of the N.Z. Amateur Athletic Association, on the Basin Reserve last, evening, R. W. Lamb (Australian crack) made bis record and last appearance on the track in Wellington, and won the three-mile invitation race, beating F. J. Grose (New Zealand amateur champion) by a length. The race was run in 7min. 56 2-ssec.. Flett (Wellington) was third, three lengths away, and Carswell was fourth. The one-mile invitation race was won by Grose, a length ahead of Flett. Lamb was third, a similar distance away.
In the handicap events 11. Scarfe (scr) won the three mile, and also took the first heat of the one-mile, but the final of the latter was won by P. Harrison (40 yards).
