LEVIN SHOW.
RECEIPT OF ENTRIES,
It has been decided to extend the date for the closing of entries for the Levin Show to Wednesday, the J!Hh inst., at 5 p.m. Already a large number "f entries have, been received from farmers and breeders on this coast and in-the Palmerston district. Mr J. A. Russell, of Gillespie's Line, Palmerston, will be a prominent exhibitor in tin; sheep section, and his influence as a breeder will be shown in a good many entries from other competitors.
In the horse classes there are several nominations by Miss M. J Stewart, of Halcombe, amongst them beim* the eel - brated performer Gentleman Jack. The Misses 11. and M. Benton (Palmerston) and Miss Grace Vickers (Levin) have also made entries.
The dairy cattle division promises to be an outstanding feature of the Show. Jerseys, have been entered by Mrs J. W. Spiers (Levin), Mr J. Nicholson (Manakau), and Mr S. Bowker (lhakara); Friesians by die Willhm Bevan Estate (Manakau) and the Central ,Ue> re'.>pment Farm; Ayrshires by Mr G. A. Colpman (Ohau), and dairy cattle in general by Mr 11. J. Lancaster (Lex'in). The sheep classes will also be well tilled, among the en.ri'js so far ieceived being those of Mr L. 11. Best 'Ohau), Mr W. G. Tickers (Levin),. Mr W. Falloon (Weraroa;, an 1 Mrs M. Poole - V L3vin). Nominations for jJio Berkshire pig classes have been received from the Central Development Farm; and there will be numerous exhibits in the pig section by Mr A. K. Robinson (Weraroa). , -
