SHANNON CHORAL SOCIETY.
I The annual meeting of me above Society held in the Druids' Hall on Tuesday evening, the 16t'h inst., was > .veil attended both by .old members I and intending members. In the ahI sence of the president, Mr A. H. Mori gan was voted to the chair. The bal lance sheet presented showed a credit balance of £3 3s lid, after payment of all expenses for the year. It was pointed out, however, .thait during the year several concerts had 'been given for charitable purposes and that various funds had .benefited through the efforts of the Society in a total sum of £6O. The chairman .remarked that the Society had (reason to be proud of its achievements and he congratulated the Society upon its good work. It was suggested that the practice night should he changed from Thursday to Tuesday evening. The secretary was instructed to interview the trustees of the hail and see as to whether this could be arranged. The subscription was fixed at 2s 6d per member. The conductor, ,Mr Andrew, suggested that the first concert for the season be, a mixed one and thereafter a set piece would he undertaken by the Society. It was decided to serve supper after the practices' as many members came from- some considerable distance to attend. It was pointed out at the meeting 1 that the Socie-_ ty had vacancies for several tenors owing to the recent loss of several memibers, hut it was hoped that new members'would fill the vacancies. It was decided to commence practice on the 13tli or 15th of April next, dependent upon' the availability of the Hall, the-dalle of commencement to be advertised later. The meeting terminated with a -vote of thanks to the chair. The election of office hearers resulted as follows:—'President, Mr A. ,T. White; "vjce-presideot, Mr James Aim; honorary conductor, Mr Howard Andrew; secretary, Mr E. T. Moody; pianist, Mrs Clifford-Jones; librarian, Miss G. Jones; general committee: The following ladies were elected, Mrs Clif-ford-Jones, Miss A. Aim, Mrs H. Barker, Mrs A. Hi. Morgan, and Mrs W. Butler.
