ST. PATRICK'S BALL.
AN ENJOYABLE FUNCTION. The annual grand ,St. Patrick's Ball was held in (the Druids' Hall on Wednesday evening', when the hull was well rilled, many visitors from the neighbouring townships being present. The hall and supper room and stage had 'been tastefully decollated ' Willi black, green and white streamers, while bunches of greenery were nicely arranged around the hall, the whole giving a very pleasing effect. The floor was in splendid order and reflected credit to those who were re- " sponsible for preparing it and -together with, the excellent music rendered by the Jazzmjanian Orchestra, added much to the enjoyment of the evening. The master of ceremonies was Mr J. T. Bov.is.Avho carried oui the duties most efficiently. The supper arrangements were carried out by the ladies' committee who had prepared an excellent sit down supper. During the evening extras were played by Misses Stevens, Butler, Terry and Messrs Bovis and 'Masons; while Mr | Jas. Curran danced an Irish .Jig, which drew forth rounds of applause. Dancing was carried on until the early hours of the morning and thus the most enjoyaMe ball of the season was brought to a close. Smith, black crepe de chene; Mrs Hudson, fawn mouschne with panel of gold lace; Mrs Mason, Mack and green taffeta with overdress of silver lace; Mrs Newton, pink crepe de chene; Mrs Martin, Mack satin; Mrs Terry, Mack satin with georgette trimming; Mrs iSands, rainbow art mprocain; Mrs Pavitt, black spangled net dress over white crepe de chine; Mrs P. Bevan (Levin), shaded frock of shaded mauve crepe de chene heavily 'beaded in silver, and shoes to match; Miss Bonfield, sage jersey silk; Miss Curran, rose pink taffeta; Miss Fitzgerald, beige crepe de chene, eridieent sequin trimming; Miss W. Fitzgerald, peacock 'blue taffeta with autumn leaves and silver trimming; Miss M. Butler, White crepe de chene; Miss Fnae-er, white broche satin; Mtss Gagliardi, black satin; Miss R. Roach, orange crepe de chene finished with frills; Miss N. Cole, white brocaded satin, finished at heni wijth band brown fur; Miss Stevens (Wellington)*, brocaded silk witti georgette flounces; Miss Saxon, apricot crepe de chene; Miss Blight, cinnamon inorocain; Miss Jamieson, pale <pliuk georgette; Miss Butt, cornflour jblue- satin; Miss M. Jamieson, georgette over pink satin; Miss King, pale green brocaded crepe de chene with georgette panels; Miss Terry, pink I'oroidlie satin; Miss D'Aith (Otaki), ©ream lace over pink georgette; Miss Watterston, flame satin; Miss Gordon, iblue satin with' silver apron; iMliss.
