PEDDER TREATED LENIENTLY.
OFFER OF .RESTITUTION MADE. WELLINGTON, March 17. James Henrv Alfred Pedder,' clerk for the theft of £49 Us 7d, the property of the Miranui Co-operative Society, was sentenced to eighteen monies' hard labour. The Judge said this was not the first offence, tout as restitution was offered he exercised great leniency.
