ESCAPE FROM WERAROA.
TWO BOYS RECAPTURED AT TOKCiMARiU. Two boys escaped from the Training Farm at Weraroa at midnight on Wednesday. On arriving in Levin they took possession o ; £ two bicycles and rode to Koputaroa where they boarded a goods train as it was moving out of the station at 4,30 a.m. The driver of the traan noticed them on the waggons and on arrival at the station at Shannon the boys left the train and proceeded towards the Shan-non-Foxton road. The .police were at . once notified by the railway officials and a search was made by no trace | could be found. When leaving the train they were clad in pyjamas and were barefooted, while each carried a parcel. About 6.15 a.m. the Farm j Manager and Constable Irom Levin arrived in, Shannon in pursuit. At 10 a m. the Shannon police received information that several huts, the property of the Makerua Drainage Board situated on Kingston Road had been entered and property stolen. Following this clue up, the police during the afternoon: effected an arrest at Tokomaru and the escapees were returned to the school last evening.
