At the Sham) on Croquet Clu'b's courts on Wednesday, the first of the challenge matches were played, when Mrs Aim and Mis White challenged the holders of the Double Badges, Mrs Franks and Mrs Roach, and after a very close game, Mesdames Franks and Roach retained' the Badges, the scores being 26—24.
