LEVIN MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
DECEMBER SITTINGS. The monthly sitting of the Levin Magistrate’s Court was held on Thursday, Mr J. Logan Stout being the presiding Magistrate. The following cases were dealt with:— JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. Channings and Webber v. Ruku Hanita Paki, claim £2O 0s 6d.—Order made for payment at the rate of £2 per month, in default 14 days, with costs £1 11s 6d. W. G. Waikley v. J. Beard, claim £l2 2s.—Order made for payment forthwith, in default 14 days’ imprisonment, with costs £1 Is. , Vidal and Sons v. E. Porter, claim £4 7s 6d.—Order made for payment forthwith. J. M. BREACH OF PROHIBITION ORDER. Ruku Palu was fined £1 and costs Lis for procuring liquor during the currency of a prohibition order.. DANGEROUS MOTOR DRIVING. / Florrie Stevens was charged with driving a motor car over the intersection of Queen and Oxford . Street, Levin, at a dangerous speed on Saturday, November 14. Constable Greggan stated that about 5.15 on the Saturday mentioned defendant drove over the intersection of Queen and Oxford Streets at a speed of from 25 to 30 miles an 'hour. She paid no- regard to the other trial--fie and did not sound a horn. The prescribed speed at that, point under the by-lawis wjas eight miles per hour. - ‘ . A fine of £3 and costs’7s was haposed.
