SHANNON CHORAL SOCIETY.
Tlie.committee of the Shannon Choral Society have decided to accede to the request of the public to repeat several of the items so successfully given at the last concert. ' The Society had a splendid practice last week, although a very bad night, nearly 40 were present. As the new music had not arrived, the choir put in some very good work at the "Hallelujah Chorus." ' Amongst the new items chosen for this season are: "The Gloria" (Mozart), "And the Glory" (Messiah), "The Uong Day ;Cioses" (Sullivan), and the humorous item "The Catastrophe." Mr Roberts, who has been acting air treasurer for the Society, asked to be relieved of the position owing toi pressure of business. The Society accepted his resignation with regret and thanked him for his services. Mr Moody was unanimously appointed in his place. The Society netted about £4 at the last concert "and This will only pay the expenses for the coming session so the next concert, it is hoped, will prove to be better financially. The Society has raised over £4O for other objects in the town and district.
