GRAND VICTORY BALL.
A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION,
The Grand Victory Bail held by the Shannon Football Club in the Druids' Hall on Friday evening was a decided success, the hall toeing comfortably filled for dancing, and there being J many visitors .present from the neigh- | bouring towns. No trouble had been I spared by the committee to make the function enjoyable and it was pleasing to see their efforts rewarded. The hall had been specially decorated with coloured streamers and the walls interspersed with greenery and with the many coloured frocks worn by the ladies, presented a pleasing effect. Messrs H. Hook and T. Kohika officiated as M.'sC, the music being supplied by George's Orchestra.. During an interval opportunity was taken bv Mr J. W. Procter, President I orf the Horowhenua Rugby Union, to i present the Cup won toy the fourth I grade team, and in calling on Mr Satherley, captain of. the team, he ! congratulated the team on their achievement and said he hoped that ; they would long maintain the stand I ard of play which had enabled them i to win the trophy. i An excellent sit-down supper under the supervision of lady supporters ol • the Club, was provided- and thorough j ly appreciated. The floor was in ex- i celleht order and dancing was kept up until a late hour, the evening be- ; mg voted a huge success by all who attended.
