HOROWHENUA v. MANAWATU.

TEAMS FOR SATURDAY. Keen interest is being taken in Rugby circles in the meeting of the Horowhenua and Manawatu representative teams at Foxton on Saturday, when Manawatu is expected to put forth a strenuous effort to become the dominant partner in the combination, a position held by Horowhenua by virtue of their victory earlier in the season. MANAWATU. The Manawatu selector has chosen the following team and they are going into hard training in the gymnasium this week;— Full-back: N. A. Cowie. Three-quarters: H. Palmer, L. Mullins, G. S. Leeder. Five-eighths: G. Darragh (1), K. D. Brophy (2). Half: Rangi Akiuira. Winger: J. McDonald (capt.) Back row of scrum: M. Stuart, P. SDGHC6 , Supports: K. Gothard, ft Peebles. Lock: C. Jackson. Hookers: K. Reid, E. Anderson. Reserves: Back, H. MoKenzie; forward, A. McKay. HOROWHENUA. Mr T. Wngley has selected the following team to do battle for whenua;Full back: Hunt. Three-quarters: Wi Marino, M. Johnston, Bryant. Second five-eighths: Wilson. First Five-eighths: Winiata. Half back: T. McDonald. Wing forward: Jacob (captain). Back row: Thompson, Palmer. Supports: McLean, Tuna, Moymhan. Hookers: Corby, Kehu Hakaraia. Emergencies;— Backs.—Procter. Forwards.—Tana. Practice will be held in the Domain Levin, on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7.30. The selector, Mr Wrigley, has made arrangements for cars to be sent to all the centres in the Union to convey the players to Levin for practice on the above nights. All players are requested to attend these practices as failure to do sot will mean that their positions in the team will have to be reconsidered. The Union looks to players to give the selector their loyal support in the matter.
