Some of the greatest dramatic artists of the screen have been developed from the comedy field. There seems to he a training in the fun realm which broadens a player’s ability. The newest recruit into heavy drama is Laura La Plante, who appears in the title role of “Butterfly,” with Norman Kerry, the Universal-Jowel-Clarence Brown production—which will be screened Monday. Miss La Plante began her screen careen as a comedy girl and graduated into feature leads. She was made a star of comedy drama features after her appearance opposite Reginald Denny in “Sporting Youth.”
