DAIRY CONTROL BOARD ELECTION.

BECOMMEN’DATION TO DISTRICT DAIRYMEN, * Before the meeting of dairy farmers in the Century mil on Saturday to hear the address on contagious -nmminitis, Mr G. Tully, on behalf 01 tile farmers present, asked Mr S. A. Broadbeit, chairman of Directors of lire Levin Dairy Company, the attitude the Directors were taking regaining compulsory control of dairy produce and voting for members on the Board.

Mr Broadbeit replied that the Directors were almost unanimous in favour of control, one Director only being uncertain, and the Directors were in favour of doing everything possible to assist the Control Board. Air Broadbeit said that he would recommend all suppliers who were in favour of control to vote for Mr \V. Grounds and Mr G. Motion, who were the retiring members of the Board and both capable men. Mr Broadbeit stated that all suppliers were entitled, to their own opinions as regards control or free marketing, but this was his recommendation after giving the uuestion most serious consideration.

Mr Wall, chairman of the Kuku Dairy Company, stated that his Board were in favour of control and would advise their suppliers to also vote for Messrs Grounds and Motion. Mr Wall stated that it was only lair to give the Board every chance. Mr A. j. Gimblett, of Lbvin, alsospoke in favour of control, Mr Hall moved and Mr Gimblett seciOnded, the following resolution: “That this meeting of dairy farmers of Levin and Kuku district, is strongly in favour of the absolute control of dairy produce as organised by the Control Board.” The motion was carried unanimously.
