I Tlie first game of the season to Lie j played at Shannoln, took place on I Saturday when a team from the Shauj non Club met Tokomaru. After a keenly contested game In which both teams showed promise, the local j players won 'by 9 to nil. Tries wen* , scored by Matithewsj Hunt and Gahlwell. At the conclusion of the game the local club entertained the visitors to tea at the Club Hotel. A return match will be played at Tokomaru on Saturday week. ' The following are the results m other games played in the district Moutoa IS v. Orofua Downs ml. ‘ Linton 1* v. Miranul IX.
