MANGAORE NOTES.
(From our own Correspondent.) All' A. L. James, of Canter bury College, who has been, gaining practical experience at the Manganao 'Power Station, returned to Christchurch last week. Mr F. W. Furkert, Chief Engineer to tlie P.W.TJ., was on a. visit to the construction works at Maaigahao last week. Mr B. E. Older, who was attached to tlie operating staff at the Power Station, left last week for Chinstehurch, lie having been appointed to the position, of senior operator at the Addington substation.
Mr E. J. Hjorth and familv left for Arapuni last week. Mrs Gibbs. of Wellington, is on a visit here and is staying with Mr and Airs C. E. Elvhies. On Monday afternoon last tlie opportunity was taken of larewelling a member of the Office staff,' Mr Chas. James, who has been transferred to Okahukuira, Mr Riddler (chief clerk) in making a presentation, remarked that they were sorry he was leaving, hut it seemed nig time had come to move on to further fields, and wished him success in. his new district, Mr James suitably replied. On Wednesday afternoon, A. .?. Cox, sustained injuries to his leg, necessitating stitches. It appeal's an axe slipped while Cox was felling on the new road to the Top Dam. Tlie patient was brought into Shannon for medical attention.
