While proposing a toast at a wedding at Paraparaumu yesterday the Rev. J. Edwin Jones said recently, at Northlands, he officiated at a wedding at which some amusement was caused, owing to the fact that he did not know the parties concerned. The bridegroom, attended by hi s best man, toolc up his place at the altar, after which a young lady, who he though was the bride, ranged herself alongside., He started the ceremony and had proceeded for a time when a member of the congregation stepped forward and asked if it would not be wise to wait for the bride. He was much taken back, but of course, delayed proceedings till the bride arrived. He afterwards asked the bridegroom why he had not protested and received an answer from that individual that he did not like to do so.
