At the Palmerston EQur.t yeste.rday, James Curran, licensee of the Albion Hotel, Shannon, vvas charged With, selling liquor when the premises were required to be closed. t Defendant, for whom Mr McGregoi appeared, pleaded guilty. * toenior-Sergeunt O’Grady said, that , Constable McGregor, of Shannon, had seen three men draAV up at the hotel by night in a car and secure liquor.. The explanation given at the umo was. that' the liquor had bean ordered earlier in the day, but W.he.n questioned the men had been somewnat confused about the matter. Further, the cash register was (heard working in the hotel when one o.£ the men Avent in. -
Counsel said Wat the liquor had been ordered earlier in the day nod the men Avere then taking it away. His Worship-. “'They should have removed it earlier.” He fined defendant L'u and costs. Arising out of this case Stewart Miller Ayas charged that, (Qn December l, at Shannon, he was found on the premises of the. Albion Hotel after hours. A fine of £2 and costs. 7s Avas imposed.
