The annual meeting of the Horowhunua branch of the New Zealand Educiitichal Institute was held last Saturday, at the State School, Otaki, when it, was decided to entertain Mr Bakewell, who is retiring from 1 the position of Senior Inspector of Schools;, at a social gathering at Levin «. n 2nd August Mr Caughley, Director of Educar tion, Mr Bird, Senior Inspector, and . the Chairman of the Education Board are.to be .invited to attend, and alt teachers from Paekakariki to Toko-. • inaru are earnestly requested to toe present, on that occasion.
