THE "TICKET" SUPPORTED

A meeting of the) executive of the Manawatu and West Coast Dairy Companies' Association was held in Palmersiton on Friday, there being present Messrs S. A. Broadbelt (chairman),. Dermier, Hansen and Teale. Included in the business transacted was the carrying of the following motion: "That the ticket recommended by the National Dairy Council for election to the Dairy Control Board b& supported .by this/association, which regrets the contemplated action of the Dairy Farmers' Union in nominating candidates for the Dairy Control Board." After a' protracted discussion at an extraordinary meeting of the Dairy Farmers' Union held yesterday it was decided to take no further part in pressing for a Union nominee on. the Control Board, and,strong criticism of, the suggested policy in this matter was indulged in by members. There were present Messrs P. JSmall (president), E. Hardy, W. H. Gimblet, J. H; Taylor, G. Wagstaff, R Cobbe, J. O'Donnell, N. Campbell,, J. D. Balmer, C. Dernier, J. W. Teale, O. W. Williams, J/Ferguson, Isaac and J. T. Fox. As ,a result of Uhe decision, Mr Williams,' who drew up the proposed policy, resigned his position of secretarial adviser.
