i Saturday’s big picture; is entitled “A Fool There .Was.” Surrounding John Schuyler was. a hapy home, a lovely wile and; tyvo children. On the eve of his departure for Russia, he linds that Avery Parma,lee, a member of this board of directors, is involved with a notorious women. Next day Schuyler goes aboard ship. So does Gilda Fontaine, who is ruining Parmalee. She spurns him, and before the eyes of Schuyler, his wife 1 , and the ship’s passengers, the young man shoots himself. With Parmalee out* of the way, the vampire attracts Schuyler, who at last succumbs to her charms. Cancelling his passage for Russia, Schuyler hastens to Lake Como, where he and the woman proceed to engage in a love debauch. From there they go to* Venice for the carnival, the/enraptured fool forgetting business, wife and: home. Schuyler returns to New; York with the woman and occupies a-separate house from his own household. The spell of the charmer is on him,,-and when, his company asks for his resignation after his failure to get the Russian com tracts, he plunges into dissipation and becomes a Wreck. His business is gone, his friends have* deserted) him, the woman makes sporti of him, and be has only brandy for sQlaice. To Schuyler then comes, has wife and child, 'and the wife! pleads with him to return home that; night, The climax must be left to the'film' to fehow;

"^fter a) series of exciting adventures he saves her from a, marriage with the villain! finds she is the daughter of a Grand Duke, end he becomes assistant ruler of the kingdom. In the excitement, however, he forgets that he belongs to; the A'.E.F., and fails to realise the. fact until a couple of husky M.P.’s '-arrive on the scene to cart him back to’ ai military cell. He [eaves his bride with the excuse that General Pershing has called him back to take charge of the army, buft thiait he 1 will return as stoon ■as he gets the affairs in such shape that he can turn them over to an assistant.
