POSITION OF SCHEME,
At Tuesday; night’s meeting of the Borough Council the Engineer reported: With reference to the question securing a pipe track from the bridge ' Which crosses the Mangore stream opposite Lot 4, part section No. 8, to a suitable point on thie western side of the Mangore stream, such track traversing sections No. 15, .11 and 13 Mt. Robinson survey district, I am pleased to state after making an exhaustive examination of the locality and securing complete information as set out in plans of this district secured from the Chief Wellington,. I am of the opinion that it is unnecessary to write the> Horowhenua owners to the stream permission to carry out the Shannon water supply scheme. The latest authentic survey plans show that the road known as the Mangaore stream extends to the. water at least. It will, however, be necessry to write the Horowhenua County Council formally for permission to construct the head-works and lay other portions of the roads within the jurisdiction of that Council.—Letter to be writftjen to Horowhenua Council Council asking for permission to construct, the head works and lay pipes on the 'edge of the road, also along other portions of the road! within the jurisdiction, of the' Council.
