TOKOMARU NEWS.

A confirmation service was held in St. Aidan’s Church, on Tuesday evening, when nine candidates came forward for confirmation. The service was conducted by Bishop Sprotf.. and was well attended. The Rev. J. C. Abbott motored his Lordship from Shannon, and the service commenced at 7.45.
Miss B. Kellv is visiting her sister, Mrs S. J. Castle, of Wellington. The influenza, which was so prevalent. in this district seems to have abated, and with the arrival of warm •pring weather, should quite disappear.
With the departure from New Zealand of Mr. Massey, and the closing of Parliament, the question of the taxation of bachelors seems to- have been forgotten. As this concerns some of our local young men, they should look to their'' laurels, and make good their opportunities.
