THE WATER SUPPLY.
RATEPAYERS’ ASSOCIATION WATCHFUL. The question of the proposed water supply for Shannon was brought up at the" Ratepayers’ Association meeting on Friday evening, when the report of the Medical Officer of Health (Dr. Findilay), which appeared in Friday’s issue of the “News,” was read to the meeting, arid after some discussion it was unanimously .decided to' forward the following recommendation to the Borough Council: “That in view of the Medical Officer (Dr. Findlay’s) detrimental report regarding the proposed source of water supply for Shannon, this general meeting of the Ratepayers’ Association takes strong exception to the continuation of the work until some definite understanding is reached regarding the purity of the water, sufficient .supply, and extra cost,, if any. That if it is intended to alter.the original .scheme as voted upon by the ratepavers of Shannon, we recommend, the holding of a. public meeting of ratepayers in order that, the new plans he. nlaced before them ’’
