VALEDICTORY.
A large number of members of the Shannon Football Club met on Monday evening to bid farewell to Mr J. H. Taylor, who is leaving for Eh,gland on holiday. Mr Birchall, on behalf of the members, in making a presentation to Mr Taylor of several useful articles, referred to the able manner in which Mr Taylor had carried out the duties of secretary to the club and the esteem i,n- which he- was held by the committee and players, and expressed the. hope that he would have an enjoyable trip, and a, safe return. Messrs W. Moynihan and R. Sand'S also referred to the loss sustained by the club through his departure from Shannon'. Mr Tafylor, in accepting the presents, said he had been taken ' by surprise a® he had not been resi-. dent here very long-, but he was plea'sed to know that he had been of service to the club and would -always remember their kind remarks. Mr Taylor wa,s a popular member of the senior team.
