GREEKS DECLINE TO EXTEND LENIENCY. TO MILITARY OFFENDERS. (Received Monday, 7.40 p.m.) LAUSANNE, May 20. The Turks have been persuaded to grant an amnesty to all political offenders, e x cept 150, who. may be banished from Turkey. The Allies arc now trying to persuade M. Venizelos to arrange a similar Greek amnesty for military offenders, but M. Venizelos pleads that an amnesty would undermine discipline in the Greek Army. N O ItESPON SIBILITY. POi; LAUSANNE ASSASSINATION. (Received Monday 7 p.m.) BERNE, May 20. The Swiss Government received a Note from the Soviet Government charging it with responsibility for the murder of M, Vorowsky. The Federal Council replied, declining' responsibility for assassination, and refusing the demands contained in the Russian Note, declaring the delegation at Lausanne not being of an official character was no.t entitled to the privileges accorded oflicial delegations to the Conference.
