FOOTBALL.
On Saturday afternoon at the Recreation Reserve the Shannon -Football Club opened their season with a jun-, ior practice with the newly formed j Mangore Club. For the first game of the season a fair display was given, both teams showing they had plenty of material to work on, and that both clubs will be able to put good teams in the field when the fixtures come around. Play throughout was of an even nature, hut Mangore appeared to have more combination. Nevertheless Shannon were the winners, R. Terry and Barber securing tries,, the latter’s being converted by Buckman. Mr Burroughs carried the whistle.
