HARVEST THANKSGIVING.

The Harvest Festival services in connection with the Shannon Methodist Church were well attended, and the display oi fruit and vegetables was both plentiful and beautiful. The Festival was continued on Monday evening in the Parish Hall, which was largely attended. A musical programme was provided, each item being thoroughly enjoyed. Miss Evans, of Foxton, opened with a pianoforte solo. Miss Chalk, also cf Foxton, sang a solo. Little Miss Swindlehurst gave a recitation. Mesdames Bishop and Bovis sang “Ora Pro Nobis,” their voices blending beautifully. Mr. Bishop sang, and had to respond to subdue the applause. Mrs Bishop sang, Miss Quarrie gave a recitation and Mrs Bovis sang. Miss Rita Byers and Mr Gordon Byers played. An instrumental duet was played by Miss Rita Byers, and Mr Gordon Byers (piano and violin). Thje musical programme ended, the sale of produce arid drapery commenced, the produce especially being dispased of in a very short time. A good supper was provided by the ladles, and terminated a very successful and enjoyable evening. Attention is drawn to the special Easter services on Sunday, both in morning and evening.
