CORRESPONDENCE.

WATER FOR SHANNON. (To the Editor.) Sir,—Respecting the poll to be taken next month for a supply of water tor Shannon, T trust our go-ahead people will do their best and work for the carrying of the poll and so counteract the stick-in-the-muds; there is, Of course, always some of this type in every town. Let us not miss this opportunity to -get a plentiful supply of clean water—our costly and precarious lank water is not only unhealthy but disgusting. If the residents of Shannon could see the filth they are drinking at present, the loan would be carried unanimously. The .amount of the proposal of the Borough Council, i.e., £II,OOO, is very small, and the rate will be very low, while the present tank system is very expensive to the consumer.—l am, etc., FATHER OF FAMILY. Shannon, January 12, 1923.
