DIXON CUP MATCH.
FEILDING DEFEATS LEVIN
Tlie Levin Bowling Club was no't destined to hold the Dixon Cup long alter recently winning the trophy. The Feilding Club &ent a challenge rink over on Saturday in quest or the Cup and after a very keen game succeeded in winning it by 19 to 11. The rinks
were— Feilding: Atkinson, Archer, Miles and Chappell (skip). Levin: Wiison, Bull, Harris, Rankin (skip). Levin started off by scoring 1, Land 2 in the first three heads and at that stage led 4—o. Feilding then got a 2 and after that to the 14th head flie scoring was low, each lying 1 alternately. At the 14tli head, Feilding
led 9—B. From then on the visitors forged ahead and after the 16th head had a lead of 7. At the 19th head Feilding had increased their advantage to 19—8, Levin not having laid a scoring shot since the 14th head. In the last two heads Levin scored 3, the final figures being 19—11 in Feilding’s favour. The play was very keen right through, and it was the hardest game the Levin Club has experienced for the Cup. At the conclusion of the play, Mr Bull handed over the trophy and congratulated the dinners on their performance, specially mentioning the excellent play of the Feilding skip,-Mr Chappell. Mr Atkinson replied for the visitors and said the match had been a tough one hut had been pleasantly contested and much enjoyed. Cheers were exchanged between the rinks, the players then being entertained by the local club at- afternoon tea.
