Board re dental treatment of school : children in 1923, with the ihformation | that .that body has received replies ; from some 40 to 50 Committees of the I district who were previously address-

Quite generous j offers of assistance have been received j from a number of districts, and the : Board wishes to thank those who are thus prepared to assist free of charge , in saving and improving the teeth of our children. Mr Hunter, the Director of the Dental Division, explains t that as the work is only beginning,

and as the number of trained dental nurses to cover the whole Dominion will be only 25 in 1923, for the most part choice will be made of those districts most remote from centres, and having also a fair number of children to treat. Early next year a start will

be made after an itinerary has been arranged on the basis of the replies received. Intimation will be made to each individual school to be served some timie before the work begins next year.—Received with satisfaction. From the Wellington Education Board announcing the appointment of

The statement in general terms runs as follows: Organisation and management, satisfactory; order, discipline and tone, good; attendance and registration, good; the general efficiency of the teaching in the infant, department and the upper standards is good. The work of Standard I. pnd Standard 111. has been adversely affected by changes of teachers. CleanTThess of the scliodl premises is commened. The need for pictures on the \yalls of the infant

department is stressed. The probationer is receiving satisfactory in-

struction and training. The report was received, the head teacher (Mr Voysey) pointing out that the pictures referred to were now to hand, and wanted beading before they could be placed on the walls. This matter was put in order accordingly. GENERAL. Picnic, funds were then considered, when it was decided that Miss M. Neale and Mr W. Quarrie be approached with a view to organising a second concert lor the purposeTf augmenting the amount in hand.

This" being the last meeting of the year, the chairman (Mr 'Murray), on behalf 'of the Committee, congratulated tine head teacher and staff on the good Work as evidenced by the Inreport, and also extended good wishes for a Merry Christmas and Haippy New Year. Mr Voysey suitably replied on behalf of himself and staff.
