We understand it is the intention of | the committee to get bn with the work in connection with the tennis coiirts, so there is yet hopes of tennis enthusiasts being able to get a game this season. The directors of the Tokomaru Cooperative Dairy Co. have purchased half an acre of land a,t the rear of their factory with a view to being able, to extend their buildings in the event of it being necessary ait some future date. There is every likelihood of such being the case, and it, is a wise move on their part. The Football Club held a most enjoyable dance on Friday evening last. Owing to the boisterous evening many were* prevented from attending, but those that ventured out had a good time. During the evening a competition called, the Zoo Waltz took place, and caused much fun, the prize being awarded to Miss Jessie McGregor and Mr Norman Dalzell. The many friends of Mr Innes will be pleased to hear 4 that he is back home again and well on the way to recovery after his severer illness. The Dairy Company received advice at the week-end that the result of the grading of their butter was 93 points..

The Tokomaru Co-operative Dairy Co. were placed in rather an awkward predicament last week /when it was discovered that the artesian wall had become silted up. On Saturday morning the* water supply ran out and operations were held up until some of the suppliers arrived, who were engaged to cart water from.the stream nearby, thus enabling the machinery to> be put in operation. Fortunately a number of pipes were on hand, and these "were connected from : the stream to, the factory and work was carried out in this manner until the well was cleaned out, A large quantity of silt was taken out, and the artesian is once more in working order. Several farmers in the Tokomaru' district have joined the Cow-testing Assocition, which commenced another season last month. Mr Boyd, the
