SHANNON CLUB. A meeting of the Management Committee! of the Shannon Cricket Club was held on Wednesday evening. Mr G. Quarrie presided. The question of entering two teams this season was brought up and after being discussed from all! points, it was decided that although there was every prospect of there being a sufficient number of players available, the cluh could not see 1 its way clear to finance two teams, therefore it was the unanimous opinion of the meeting to enter only the one team. It was estimated the cost of running one team would be about £23, and a second team an extra £l6. Mr Bishop, a member of the committee, in the interest of the game, stated he would resign and start to work to form an other club in the hope that he would be successful in financing another team that way. The members of the committee appreciated Mr Bishop’s attitude, and hoped that he would meet with success and in the event of him failing, asked him to ieconsider (his decision; in the meantime leave of absence would be granted, and his action was highly commended by the Management tee.
