The argument of the Auckland City Schools’ Committee that, in view of the compulsory saluting of the flag at schools, the flag should be. supplied by the Education Department, came before the Auckland Education Board on the point of renewal of the wornout flag at Beresford Street School (states the Star). By resolution the board passed the decision on to the Department, referring the School Committee’s statement that the cost of the flag was a departmental matter to the central body. To cope with the development of dairying in the Ihakara district the Levin Dairy Company has placed another motor lorry on the road to serve the suppliers. It will collect on the Ihakara hill and convey the separated product from the local creamery to the factory in Levin;
