The funeral of the Hon. Huia Onelow took place at Guildford. The coffl was covered with a Maori chieftain's rug in memory of the fact that he was regarded as a chief of the Maoris.—London cable.
On Friday evening a very enjoyable time was spent ,at Mr J. Bovis’s residence by a number of freinds of Mr and Mrs .Geo. Parkhouse, the occasion being a farewell gathering on their leaving Shannon. Mr and Mrs Parkhouse were the, recipients of a large framed photo of the Arapeti Camp as a memeto of their successful efforts at entertaining the men at the works. Thei evening was enlivened by a number of vocal and instrumental aityl proved very enjoyable. Mr Parkhouse, who has purchased a house and business in Hamilton, left with his wife and family for that .town on Saturday.
