MAORILAND THEATRE.
“REDHEAD” ON WEDNESDAY
Local patrons will have a select production presented to them on Wednesday evening, when they will have the opportunity ol renewing acquaintance with Alice Brady, the popular star, in the select picture story, “Redhead.” This is the story of a wealthy young man about town; who marries a cabaret girl on a bet while" under the influence of liquor. Later, they both regret it, but she decides that as long as she has taken him “for better or for worse” she may as well make a man of him. She succeeds, but the path proves steep and rocky, add she is forced to suffer much humiliation and many heartaches. The picture L a human one—the story of a human man. and a human woman with their good and bad sides. “Redhead” is the kind of a picture that will leave a pleasant- taste in your mouth. This forms another of the fine films that have appeared on the local screen, and patrons may rest assured of an entertaining evening. “THE VICE OF FOOLS.”
At Tokomaru on Thursday and at Shannon on Friday, there will be something select for movie lovers m the picture story, “The Vice cl Fools,” starring that queen of emotion, Alice Joycef The picture is from the famous Vitagrapli studio, and the plot revolves about Marion • Rogers, played by Miss Joyce, and Cameron West, enacted by Robert Gordon, who has won for liimself a host of 101lowers by his work in support of the star. These two have been brongh up together since childhood, and the sisterly affection of Marion has gradually changed to a womanly love. Cameron, however, becomes infatuated with society and society's debutantes. Marion sees him being won from her by the unscrupulous methods of the society butterflies, whose only occupation in life is playing the love game. So it is a case of an honest woman fighting against competitors who stop at no means to accomplish their ends.
