SHANNON FOOTBALL CLUB.
A meeting of the Shannon Football Club was held in the Council Chambers on Thursday evening at 8 o’clock. Present: Mr Murdoch (pre-
sident, in the chair), Mr T. Moynihan (treasurer), Mr A. Burr (secretary) and fourteen members. Owing to the books of the club having been destroyed by the recent fire, the minutes of the previous meeting were unable to be read. CORRESPONDENCE.
A letter was read from Mr A. Burr, tendering hlis resignation as secretary owing to his intention to leave the district, and it was resolved to accept Mr Burr’s resignation with regret. Mr T. Mason wrote, offering to present two medals to.be given to the most improved forward and most improved back in the senior team. The meeting decided to accept and thank Mr Mason for his offer, and left the selection of the players to receive the medals in the .hands of the committee. ' NEW SECRETARY ELECTED. It! was resolved to call for nominations for the position of secretary, and Mr Sands moved that Mr T. Mason he appointed. Mr L. Buckman seconded the motion, and as there w-ere no further nominations, the chairman declared Mr Mason elected. GENERAL. The new secretary was then instructed to purchase the necessary hooks to replace those destroyed. The' miattefi of outstanding subscriptions was then discussed, and it. was finally decided to request the captain of each team to collect all money due as soon as possible. The question of entering teams for the seven-a-side tournament at Palmerston 'North Was held over until after the next playing Saturday. The treasurer reported a credit balance from last year of £5 12/10- ■ During the meeting Mr McDonald offered to present a medal to the most improved player sin the juniot team, the selection to be left, in the hand’s of Mr Grimshaw. A vote of thanks was passed for Mr McDonald o kind offer. The meeting then closed with a vote of thanks to the chair. REFEREES FOR SATURDAY. senior. Wanderers v. Foxton, at Levin, Mr C. Burrows.
