TENNIS CLUB’S SEASON.

OPENED ON WEDNESDAY

The Tennis Club opehed llioif season on Wednesday last, there being a fair attendance though the weather was not all it might have been. In the absence of the president, Mr J. T. Bovis, who was unable to attend, Mr Murdoch gave a short address, in,

which he congratulated the members on their enthusiasm, and washed them an enjoyable sea'son. He hoped they would be successful in winning the Newman Cup. He then called on Mrs Bovis to hit. the first ball, and a fine afternoon’s play followed.

A dance was held in the evening in the Druids’ Hall, which was crowded. The music was supplied by Mr B. Spencer, Mr J. Olsen acting as M.C. Extras were played by Miss E. Butler and Mr J. Olsen. The supper was set out in a very quaint and artistic manner, and reflects great credit on the committee.
