PROMPT ACTION BY DEPARTMENT. The complaint mad eby the Mayor (Mr Murdoch) at the meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Board on Thursday in reference to tuberculosis cases in Shannon brought a prompt response from the Health Department. On Friday morning Dr. Fairs, District Health Officer, accompanied by Inspector O’Brien, visited Shannon, and as a result of their investigations one man suffering from the disease was dispatched to a sanatorium, and suitable provision made for the other cases.
