SHANNON CRICKET CLUB.

The Shannon Cricket Club held its opening meeting in the Council rooms recently. Eleven prospective members were present. Mr G. Quarrie was voted to the chair.

The balance-sheet was read and adopted on the motion of Messrs. Pope and Mayne. The balance from the previous season was £l3 10s 2d.

A management committee of seven was then set up, the appointment of a selection committee and captain being held over until a later meeting.

Members’ fees for the season were fixed at 10s, boys under 18 ss, honorary members’ tickets ss; no one to be allowed to use material without a ticket; all subscriptions to be paid in 1o club not later than December 1. It was decided to affiliate with the Horowhenua. Association, and Messrs Morgan and Hayne were elected delegates to that body. The secretary was presented with a trophy for his 12 years’ service in that position.
