GRAND CONCERT FRIDAY.
NOTED ARTISTS TO CONTRIBUTE
An excellent programme has been drawn up for the grand concert on Friday in aid of the Catholic Church funds. As will be seen from the details in this issue, some of the best known talent in Wellington will contribute the major portion of the programme. Miss Teresa McEnroe is recognised as being in the first flight of the Dominion’s vocalists, and she will be amongst the entertainers. Then there are the juvenile Watters Bros., who have made a clean sweep of the competitions held in the chief cities. They have remarkable soprano voices, that delight the hearers both in duets and solos. The committee is also endeavouring to include Signor Lucien Caesaroni, the noted basso, in their list. He came to New Zealand with the Italian Opera Company, and is admitted as the finest vocalist in his class in the Dominion to-day. Mrs Parkhouse’s pupils will be seen in a classic Danse Poetique, with a solo by little Phyllis Patton, a four and a-half year-old, who shows great promise as a toe dancer. The overture and accompaniments will be by Mrs Florence Taylor, L.A.8., and Mrs G. Parkhouse will give a musical monologue. It will be seen that the programme is of exceptional merit,- and the organisers as as the artists should be rewarded by a bumper house on Friday.
