Later in the meeting Cr. Gardner referred to the proposal to charge tne Horowhenua County for the damage done the streets. He did not agree with acting hastily, and considered that the borough should wait until the Work was finished aud then come to some arrangement about repairs. Cr. Fargher agreed, and thought that an amicable agreement could be come to. The county’s Work at anyrate was improving the approaches to the town. The Mayor: Both of them. Cr. Butt stated that at the last meeting of the County. Council, a delegation had been appointed to wait on the Mayor ol Shannon in regard to the traffic on the borough streets. The (Mayor said if that was so, fie would wait until he»saw the county representatives before taking any further steps.
