It is stated that Arabi Pasha, on pleading guilty, will be exiled, retaining his rank and emoluments. Baker Pasha is to bo bead of the Egyptian gendarmerie, but an English general is to be Supreme Commander in Egypt. The wool catalogue in London comprised, on the 2nd inst., 89,000 bales. Inferior merino fell from |-d to Id ; coarse crossbreds and inferior scoured were Id and 2d lower respectively. Mr Gladstone’s proposals to appoint Grand Committees to deal with law and commerce, with a view to effecting radical improvements, have been carried. Another policeman has been shot in Kerry, also another in Mayo. The Rhine is falling, but much damage has been done by the floods. The Government will prosecute Mr W. Redmond, and require Davitt and Healey, M.P.’s, to find security for good behaviour.
