The weather still continues all that could be desired for training purposes, and the Derby candidates are well forward in their preparations, Segenhoe is firmer in the market; 100 to 30 is offered, and 100 to 25 has been taken. About Navigator, 7 to 4 is offered and 2 to 1 has been taken. Guesswork is quoted at 100 to 12 (off). Against anything else, the odds run from 20 to 1 to 10 to 1. For the Cup, Sting has risen t» 100 to 18 (taken). On Cunnamulla, Sweet William, and Little Jack, 100 to 10 has been taken. 100 to 12 is taken cn Savanaka, 100 to 10 being offered. On Mistaken, 100 to 4 has been taken. The betting on Savanaka and Mistaken s in thousands. A rumor is current that Sting has been sold to Miller, the bookmaker and sweep promoter, for £3OOO. There is great excitement abou t this, as Sting has been very heavily backed for the Cup.

[Received Oct. 26, 1882, 1.25 a.m.] The following is to-night’s betting on the Melbourne Cup -Ounnamulla, 10 to 1 ; Mistaken and The Drummer, 20 to 1 ; Prometheus, 20 to 1; Savanaka, 20 to 1. The latest betting on the Derby is;—Guesswork, 10 to 1; Boolka, 12 to 1; Fryingpan, 20 to 1 ; Balina, 20 to 1; Prometheus, 20 to 1. The odds on other horses are unchanged. Most of the horses did three quarters work. Guesswork was going very strong inside the course, ond Fryingpan, Savanaka, Segenboe and Prometheus were doing steady work, evidently preparing
