[RSDTEH’S. AgK.VOV:J The Maori Deputation. London, July 17. The Maori deputation, bearing a petition addressed to the Queen, were to-day granted an interview by Earl Kimberley, and wore introduced to His Lordship by the Bight Bev. A. B. Souter, the Bishop of Nelson. Sydney Taiwhanga and Hare Mangihaka explained at length the grievances of the natives of; New Zealand, and presented their petition. The Secretary for State for the Colonies stated, in reply, that he could only transmit their memorial to the Government of New Zealand, and request the opinion of the Colonial Executive as to allegations made by the petitioners. Frozen MeatA portion of the cargo of frozen meat ex isteamsfaip Orient was sold by auction to-day and realised an average of 6}d per lb.
